Mommy brain: self-care your own way
Reminder—your mental, physical and emotional health should always be one of your top priorities. I’ve been in an amazing space lately. I’m so thankful! I’ve been in this amazing space because I decided to set boundaries and honor my needs. I’ve taken the time to re-learn myself. Sounds silly, right? I know, but getting back in-tune with myself has been the best decision I’ve made in a while. Setting boundaries and honoring my needs play a major role in my self-care. You need that solid sense of self.
The importance of setting boundaries:
You decide how others treat you
Are the relationships(family, significant other) you’re in, healthy? Do they serve you in your highest good? You teach people how to treat you, remember that.
You will make more decisions that serve you
Saying “NO” to whatever serves you no purpose or support. This also includes your well-being and health.
You will be in control of your life
You have the ability to create the life you want and need. Be confident.
The importance of honoring your needs:
Peace + joy will be increased in your life
Say “YES” to things that nourish and feed your spirit, body and mind. A happier self is a healthier self.
Learn and know your value and virtues. Live by them, stand by them.
You make room for growth + opportunity
Honoring your needs helps you to cancel out a lot of dead weight (emotionally, mentally, etc). Getting rid of that dead weight that no longer serves you, makes room for all new things.
By setting boundaries and honoring your needs, watch how everything will start to shift in a greater direction. Your happiness will increase, your peace will increase, your joy will increase. I’ve leveled up, in every aspect of my life. I’m overly protective of the woman that I am, and becoming—as I should be.
